South Point Houses
South Point Houses is the culmination of my visual research
into the NYCHA: a fully realised housing project,
fictional yet completely authentic, designed,
built and finished from scratch and
produced using 3D Studio Max and Adobe
Photoshop.
Every feature, detail and finish that went into
South Point Houses was the result of hours of
closely observed research, from the signage,
to the stars and stripes slapping wind in the
central plaza, to the brightly coloured
picnic benches, to the exacting texture of the
distinctive brickwork, to the brown metal grills
covering a majority of the ground floor windows.
