What is NYCHA Signage?
NYCHA Signage is a piece of visual research exploring the
signage of the New York City Housing Authority developments,
as part of my larger research project into the NYCHA.
I became fascinated by these oddly out of place
placards; colourful, cheery and with distinct
typographical and graphic consistency they seemingly
welcome visitors in much the same way a country club or
holiday resort might do.
The signs were drawn up in Photoshop from source material
and rendered in situ using 3D Studio Max and Photoshop.
